Although most meniscal tears are surgically treated currently, conservative treatment is first option for horizontal, degenerative tear group of patients with chronic complaints, no mechanical symptoms such as knee joint locking, and extensive pain in the knee (no localized pain). On the other hand, surgical treatment is planned in the group of patients with vertical, radial, complex or oblique tears in the MRI which describes localized pain, locking and at the same time effusion.
